It was common to book a meeting room, take reservations well in advance, then provide a series of small workshops that showed the company’s products, services, advantages, and uniqueness.</p>
<p>But that’s not the way it’s done in the age of Web 2.0 marketing. Today online webinars are extremely popular. They are very cheap to host and provide a way for people from all over the world to attend.</p>
<p>Here are some ways that you can use online <a rel="nofollow" href="http://seanseo.com/business/webinar-marketing/" target="_blank">webinar marketing</a> to your advantage, along with tips and suggestions on how to make it happen.</p>
<p><b>What Type Of Webinar</b></p>
<p>First, define the goal of your webinar. Do you want to make a sales presentation to a large group of potential clients or perhaps just focus on gaining one big account? Do you want to host a live presentation, or record it for download availability? Is the event going to be free or will it be offered as an educational product for sale or a bonus to subscribers? Are you looking for qualified prospects?</p>
<p>The goals of the webinar will decide how, what, and where you host the event. Webex, Webinar, and <a rel="nofollow" href="http://www.gotomeeting.com/fec/" target="_blank">GoToMeeting</a> are all sites that provide an appropriate platform for creating and/or recording a webinar; there are many more available so do take the time to compare and contrast several.</p>
<p><b>Planning The Webinar</b></p>
<p>How to plan your <a rel="nofollow" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Web_conferencing" target="_blank">webinar</a> will depend largely on its goals. Will the webinar use video and audio? Will you allow a question and answer session at the end? If the event is not going to be live but offered for sale after recording, then the content needs to be very informative and interesting.</p>
<p>Either way, you need to have the text and verbiage pre-planned. Write down the key points and spend some time practicing delivery. Be prepared for any circumstance that may occur, such as problems dialling into the webinar or software that quits working. Hosting a webinar is much like a live television performance; you have to be able to professionally respond to any possible emergency.</p>
<p><b>Webinar Marketing &#8211; Marketing The Event</b></p>
<p>The only way webinar marketing will be successful as far as achieving any goal, is if you gain enough prospects/clients/buyers. Obviously you are going to have to put some thought and effort into marketing the event.</p>
<ul>
<li>Start with your current list of subscribers and send them an announcement email. If you are going to charge for the webinar, offer them an exclusive discount with a deadline. This will encourage them to sign on quickly.</li>
<li>Add an opt-in window to your web page(s). This is a great way to get interested visitors to attend or buy the webinar as well as adding them to your mailing list by requiring a name and email address along with appropriate opt-in verbiage.</li>
<li>Write a <a rel="nofollow" href="http://aussieseo.com/copywriting-tips/writing-press-releases/" target="_blank">press release</a> announcing the upcoming event and submit it to several aggregation sites.</li>

<li>An iTunes account can be used for syndication after the webinar has been produced. You can offer the content either for free or for a charge.</li>

<p>When I speak at conferences and the subject of sales comes up, I can feel the audience cringe. It is so disheartening to me because sales are an absolute essential component of building a business. It is something that you either must master yourself OR hire someone who is already a master. There are no exceptions. </p>
<p>If you are afraid to sell or have some resistance around it, you are not alone. Reportedly 84% of professional sales people say they experience reluctance to selling. In the beginning of my career, I felt the same way and when I thought of a salesperson I would get the image of the used car guy. You know&#8230;. the one with the sleazy shoes and all the jewelry. That was before I really understood what sales is all about. </p>
<p><b>Selling is all about service and helping people solve their greatest challenges.</b> In reality nothing on the planet actually sells itself. All things, experiences and products, need a salesperson. And if you look around you are likely to find some really professional people that you really enjoy working with. Your doctor (sells you medicine), your mechanic (sells you repairs), your teachers (sells you more education), your insurance person (protects your life and valuables), and last but not least your significant other (sells you home, family and lifestyle). </p>
<p>It is very easy for small business owners and others to slide into the trap of thinking business is only about making sales. While in a way this is true in that if you aren&#8217;t making sales, you don&#8217;t have a business, we must never lose sight of the fact that business is about people. </p>
<p><b>It is people who make buying decisions</b>; it is people who remain loyal to companies or individuals; it is people who make referrals; it is people who share ideas that will grow your business. </p>
<p>It is important that we never lose the person in the process. In my Ignite program we outline for you a follow-up strategy and suggest tools that will help you streamline these processes. It is important to remember, however, that implementing the strategy is not the goal. Using the strategy to build and maintain relationships with people is the goal. </p>
<p>The biggest piece of advice I can give you about sales is to remember to <b>focus on your prospects challenges and needs, focus on solving their problems and building a relationship with them in the process</b>. </p>
<p>At the end of the day we all buy the things we need from the people we like and trust. </p>
<p>Become a trusted advisor and be the provider of solutions to your clients. </p>

<p>Hi Joseph,</p>
<p>Do you ever get confused with all the shiny objects, traffic generation possibilities, and the advice given to you online?<br />
If so, join the crowd.</p>
<p>The number one problem online today is overwhelm. There is too much conflicting information. There are too many systems. And there is too much to get done!</p>
<p>This causes many beginners (and even intermediates) to continually look for the perfect solution for their situation.</p>
<p>Maybe one day they&#8217;ll find the traffic solution that beats everything else out there.</p>
<p>At least that&#8217;s the hope.</p>
<p>The &#8220;hot thing&#8221; this week may be Facebook advertising. Then it&#8217;s a low cost PPC solution. Then it&#8217;s video. Have you ever noticed how the top gurus continually cycle through the main traffic generation topics? It&#8217;s almost like a yearly trend that changes each week.</p>
<p>The reality is there isn&#8217;t a single one-size-fits-all traffic solution.</p>
<p>It doesn&#8217;t exist.</p>
<p>Because there are major factors that affect just how well any specific traffic techniques work for you and your business:</p>
<p>1) Unique Market You&#8217;re In</p>
<p>2) Your Own Personality and Skills</p>
<p>3) Your Budget</p>
<p>Let&#8217;s cover each of these in order:</p>
<p>1) Unique Market</p>
<p>Your business is unique.</p>
<p>Ask most top marketing gurus and they&#8217;ll tell you everybody&#8217;s business is the same and all customers are the same. They use this cliche to explain why their simple plan works in any business&#8230;</p>
<p>It would be wonderful if this was true, but it&#8217;s not.</p>
<p>Even in the same overall market, you might find one website appeals to the general audience while another one appeals to a more affluent audience.</p>
<p>A b-to-b buyer has the same basic emotions as a consumer, but the process they use to make a buying decision is different.</p>
<p>Is selling a $25,000 executive consulting program exactly the same as selling a $27 ebook on weight loss?</p>
<p>No. it&#8217;s not the same no matter what people will tell you to the contrary.</p>
<p>The more specialized the audience and the higher ticket the offer&#8230;the more you have to work on targeting with a tighter bulls-eye.</p>
<p>I have clients who sell in all types of different markets, and it often surprises people when I tell them many of my clients now move off the internet in addition to their online marketing.</p>
<p>We find it much easier to target some industries by advertising in their offline journals or direct mailing a tight niche list than using PPC, SEO, PPV, or any combination of social media.</p>
<p>In fact, here&#8217;s my normal approach for most b-to-b industries. We do Adwords for our initial tests to find what keyword phrases are working and how our website is performing. While we&#8217;re finding the strong buyer keywords, we&#8217;re building out a content based site (often a blog) for seo. Then once we know we can convert, we move to jv relationships and offline marketing such as journals in the industry.</p>
<p>No matter what market you&#8217;re in, the goal isn&#8217;t just to &#8220;get traffic.&#8221; It&#8217;s to tap into the best sources of buying traffic. And the best sources may vary depending on what market you&#8217;re in and how they come to a buying decision.</p>
<p>2) Your Own Personality and Skills</p>
<p>Do you love to pour over the numbers and find the winning combination?</p>
<p>That&#8217;s what&#8217;s required if you going to profit from PPC. You&#8217;ll find that we constantly look at improving the CTR, the landing page conversion, and the sales conversion&#8230;all three steps throughout the process.</p>
<p>If you hate looking for small improvements in each of these numbers, then it&#8217;s not the right method for you.</p>
<p>And of course we can&#8217;t forget to mention keyword phrases, match types, time of day, etc.</p>
<p>Maybe you&#8217;re better suited for contacting potential jv partners and affiliates, networking with them, and helping them create successful promotions.</p>
<p>Or perhaps you&#8217;re the mastermind, sitting in the back coming up with your complete content marketing plan and schedule focusing heavily on seo and social media while you hire writers to do the content creation.</p>
<p>You don&#8217;t have to do it all. And you can&#8217;t do it all.</p>
<p>You just have to find the right mix that works with your skills.</p>
<p>I didn&#8217;t realize that when I first started coaching entrepreneurs. I thought if we just gave someone the exact system that worked for someone else in the market, it would work for them.</p>
<p>Not always. Because not only is your market unique, you are too.</p>
<p>Which type of marketing are you willing to stick to even if things don&#8217;t go your way at first? Which type of marketing do you ENJOY doing so it&#8217;s not just a job to you? Which type of marketing do you understand?</p>
<p>Those are all important questions to answer before you find your mix.</p>
<p>3) Your Budget</p>
<p>What level of investment can you afford?</p>
<p>Will you invest time or money (or possibly both)?</p>
<p>For example, if your goal is seo, can you invest the time it takes to produce good content and start getting rankings that drive traffic? What if it takes 3 to 6 months or more to get a decent amount of traffic?</p>
<p>Or if you&#8217;re going for PPC in a competitive market, you might find that $1,500 budget you have is eaten up within days without even enough tests to see if your landing page is working. </p>
<p>I&#8217;ve done research in markets before where I found the leader in the market was willing to lose $75+ on every new customer because they had a venture capital backer and were planning to make it up in the backend.</p>
<p>That makes it important to understand whose model you&#8217;re following? Following the leader in your industry could be an expensive experiment.</p>
<p>How much money can you invest in marketing?</p>
<p>How much time weekly can you invest in marketing?</p>
<p>How long do you have until you must see results?</p>
<p>All three of these questions are vital to finding your real budget and available investment.</p>
<p>Create Your Plan</p>
<p>Consider all 3 of these components when creating your online marketing plan.</p>
